NEW APPLE UPDATE MAY CLOG SERVERS

Networks are at threat from Apple's new update for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, says Blue Coat Systems. The software modernize, released today, is so large, over 600 MB, that multiple users in an association trying to download the update could clog networks. The download has also been customized to use all available bandwidth to complete the download process as quickly as possible. 


The update includes fixes, safekeeping enhancements and new features, but the sheer size of the file can source problems for business networks, especially for branch offices or other remote users with restricted bandwidth. Another problem is that since the file download process is so aggressive…..
