GM'S ONSTAR UNVEILS NEW EQUIPMENT AT CES

LAS VEGAS — General Motors’ OnStar will soon be presented to non-GM car owners in a standalone rear view mirror in an effort to reach more customers and make more revenue for the automaker.

GM is partnering with electronics seller Best Buy to sell the mirrors, featuring the automaker’s in-vehicle safety and safety measures technology, which will be available this mechanism for $299 plus an installation fee.

OnStar President Chris Preuss made the publication here in one of the first media events at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show -- the world’s biggest consumer technology trade show.
